The Blackdown

Our popular day van conversion, The Blackdown is fantastic for people who like impromptu getaways and bigger families alike. Its versatile design lends itself to great space for the bikes and boards as well offering ideal living, sleeping, and seating arrangements. The full width bed provides an abundance of space to sit and sleep comfortably. Designed to seat 3 people safely whilst travelling, it also folds down into a large bed big enough for those last-minute sleepovers. With the advantage of front and back access, the streamlined drawers provide underneath storage, so everything is to hand. The kitchen sink is already packed, into a compact but handy furniture pod, complete with a single-burner hob and front-loading fridge. Just top up with your favourite food and drinks and you’re good to go!

Blackdown Features

We tailor every conversion to our customer needs, however the Blackdown conversion typically includes the following:

  • An elevating roof with a zipped front clear PVC window

  • An elevating roof bed on an aluminium frame with a 25mm mattress

  • A middle-fixed window & one standard half sliding window, complete with fly screen

  • A pair of barn door windows

  • Full side ply lining, lamb’s wool insulation & carpeting

  • Altro premium vinyl on top of a 12mm birch ply floor

  • Additional under floor spacers which are fully insulated and sound deadened

  • Black out curtains for the front cab, side windows & barn doors

  • 150cm ISOfix RIB bed in VW fabric

  • Blackdown conversion kitchen pod with storage area & single drawer

  • Sliding table on a rail with aluminium folding leg

  • Seat/bed cover magnetic covers to create extra hidden storage spaces

  • One-can burner hob/sink fitted into the worktop

  • Front loading compressor fridge with freezer compartment

  • Underslung water tank, with level indicator & pump with an external fill point

  • Pressure tested, no cylinder simply gas system

  • Autoterm (Planer) diesel night heater with CO alarm with the 2021 comfort LCD upgraded controller

  • 110Ah Leisure battery & split charge system 

  • 20A B2B charger upgrade

  • 120w Premium solar panel system bonded to roof with ETFE coating

  • LED lights on the pop-top ceiling roof & strengthening frames

  • 12V fuse board & system with 6-way fuse holder & sockets

  • 240V hook-up, consumer unit & 240V sockets

The long-wheelbase has a longer worktop, 2 extra LED spotlights, increased cupboard space & a bigger wardrobe.
